Tentative Adult Forum Program, September-October-November 2010

Below is the tentative fall schedule for Adult Forum. All adults are welcome to participate in Adult Forum which meets on Sunday mornings from 9:15-10:15 a.m. in Room 1. Stimulating topics involving our Christianity are discussed along with good fellowship and coffee. Please join us whenever you can or for whatever particular topic interests you. If you have any questions or topic ideas, please contact Gail Richeson or Sherry Shaffer.

9/12/10: Sherry Shaffer will review The Five People You Meet in Heaven by Mitch Albom; she plans to ask participants to be thinking of 3 people they would like to meet in heaven.

9/19/10: Sue Thaine will discuss the books that did not make it into the Bible.

9/26/10: Sherry Shaffer will discuss the June 3, 2010 article by Bill Cala in City Newspaper about the city school district's problems: Bill Cala's vision for Rochester

10/3/10: Wayne Marion tentatively scheduled to discuss the Belhar Confession (Sherry to confirm with Wayne)

10/10/10: (What a date!) Gail will lead discussion of a NOOMA video.

10/17/10: Val will tentatively take us on a tour of the PC/USA website.

10/24/10: Was America founded as a Christian nation? Sue Thaine tentatively scheduled to lead this discussion.

10/31/10: Reformation Sunday! What do Presbyterians believe? Discussion revolving around a 2002 Horizons magazine article titled "Approaching the World as Presbyterian" and a PC/USA document reviewing the meaning of the symbols of our denomination. Leader TBD.

11/7/10: As noted above

11/14/10: Just Trade (for 2 weeks) with Sue Thaine presenting and with the help of Peacemakers from the Penfield Presbyterian Church.

11/28/10: No Adult Forum (Thanksgiving Weekend -1st Sunday of Advent)
